Loose logs

If you have selected a loose log delivery, we aim to deliver to you within 3 working days.  In periods of extremely high demand we may have to extend this time slightly, for which we appreciate your patience.

Once your order is received one of our staff will contact you to arrange a convenient date for delivery.  The day before this date, your chosen product will be selected and loaded onto the delivery vehicle.  Your order will form part of a delivery run, - you may be at the beginning, middle or end of the run depending on the shortest route for the driver.  Products are placed on the vehicle with the first delivery at the rear of the truck, working forward towards the cab.  As the logs are loose tipped, it is impossible to deviate from the planned route as another customers order may be sat in front of yours!  With this in mind, we respectfully advise that any requests for cancellations or rescheduling of deliveries must be made at least 24 hours before the planned delivery date.

log delivery

The delivery vehicle will tip the logs at, or as near to, your desired location as the vehicle allows. Please inform us at point of order if there are any access restrictions.  It must be noted that it is your responsibility to move the logs to your log store.

Once delivered, your logs need to be stored in a dry place.  Stacking them will ensure the drying process can continue or, in the case of Barn Stored logs, is maintained. In bad weather you will need to cover the logs with a tarpaulin or similar to ensure your logs do not get over wet.

Pallet Delivery

If you're unable to have a loose load, we also offer bulk bags and boxes of logs. These are delivered on pallets on a flat trailer.

The flatbed trailer lowers to ground level. The driver then uses a pallet truck to manoeuvre the logs into position on your property. The route from the trailer to the end destination must be flat and level, i.e. no gravel, stone chips or grass. Paving stones or tarmac are ideal. Please also make sure you have checked your product’s dimensions before ordering as many items do not fit through garden gates, for example.

Non-local deliveries are made using a national carrier which uses a tail lift vehicle to unload as close to your property as possible. Your property must allow for a 7.5 tonne vehicle. Without adequate access, or if you have a gravel drive, delivery will be to kerbside only. Access must be sufficiently wide, free of obstacles and reasonably level.

Payment

You can either pay by credit card at the time of ordering (online or by phone), or you can pay by cash or cheque at the time of delivery.  For deliveries 15 miles and over we do request payment in full before your order is delivered.   If you have paid in advance, and we have been instructed where to tip the logs, you do not need to be present when we deliver.  If you have selected payment on delivery, please ensure your payment is ready when the driver arrives. Cheques are to be made payable to Logs2yourdoor.
